School is out for the semester, but our work is just beginning. For the next three months, we will be taking a break from our weekly column as we put the finishing touches on our 2018/2019 Campus Performing Arts Season. This promises to be one of the best seasons ever! Here is the line-up.
Black Violin – Friday, September 28, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. Classically trained musicians use a unique blend of classical and hip-hop music to overcome stereotypes; bringing people of all ages, races, and economic backgrounds together.
The Return of MOMIX – Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. A company of dancer-illusionists take audiences on a visual and sensory journey through natural wonders of the American Southwestern desert.
The Texas Tenors – Friday, November 9, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. This three-time Emmy Award-winning, classical crossover vocal trio were a top-four finalist in the fourth season of America’s Got Talent.
Frankenstein – Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. Aquila Theatre’s production of this timeless classic will be bold and thrilling while paying homage to the original, frightening writing of Mary Shelley.
ETHEL with Robert Mirabal – Friday, February 22, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. Contemporary string quartet ETHEL and Native American musician Robert Mirabal present their cross-cultural concert experience: The River.
Brewer and Shipley – Friday, March 8, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. One of the most successful and controversial rock duos of the 70’s, Brewer and Shipley are best known for One Toke Over the Line, their intricate guitar work, and vocal harmonies.
