St. James and Steelville High School Students and staff participated in a plant tour and presentation at Tacony Manufacturing and Cohen Architectural Woodworking to showcase the rewarding, skilled jobs available in manufacturing. Students were welcome to engage by observing and asking questions of our personnel while they perform their job.
Cohen Architectural Woodworking constructs works of art in custom cabinetry. Thirty-five years strong, they standardize and build high-quality custom millwork components and casework for healthcare, education, retail, transportation, hotels, and more, for new construction, renovation, and disaster reconstruction.
Tacony Manufacturing employs hard-working Missourians building the best vacuum cleaners on the market. Built in the heart of America, our vacuum cleaners are designed with American ingenuity by American craftsmen, and feature the highest standards in design, material and durability.
Both companies opened their doors to citizens in the community which draws greater attention to outstanding opportunities a career in manufacturing can provide and promote the pursuit of skills leading to a long-term career offering security and growth for qualified candidates. Each conducted a brief overview of their operation, and then offered tours their facility.
Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers.
